Summary

The Texas Historical Commission’s strings come off.

The bill cancels the state's conservation easement and related promises on the Nueces County historic courthouse property, which the Texas Historical Commission required when it gave the county money for a courthouse project. It touches Nueces County and the Texas Historical Commission. Within 60 days of the law taking effect, the commission must sign a release and file it in the county deed records, so the state's preservation restrictions on that property end.
