THE TEXT

“This section expires September 1, 2026.”

Bill text, introduced version (I)

The definition of the program the ban depends on expires around the time the ban first applies in the 2026-2027 school year. This looks like a drafting bridge until S.B. 2's own subchapter takes over, not a real escape.

THE TEXT

…“a child is not eligible to participate in the program during the period in which the child's parent or legal guardian is a state representative, state senator, or statewide elected official”

Bill text, introduced version (I)

The bill changes who can get public education savings account money by shutting out the children of state lawmakers and statewide officials.
