Summary

Middle and high schoolers get room to express milk or breast-feed.

The bill requires every Texas public school district, open-enrollment charter school, and the state schools for the blind and the deaf to provide reasonable accommodations to lactating middle and high school students. Those accommodations must let the student express breast milk, breast-feed an infant child, and handle other needs related to breast-feeding. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, schools have a new duty to accommodate student mothers, though the bill does not spell out what counts as reasonable.
