Summary

Rain gardens, green roofs, permeable pavement and rain barrels.

The bill requires the state to build green stormwater features like rain gardens, permeable pavement, green roofs and rain barrels into every new state building. It covers the state facilities commission and agencies whose building projects are normally exempt from the state construction chapter, such as those that run their own projects. Starting with new projects put out for bid on or after September 1, 2025, those buildings must include this kind of rainwater-absorbing infrastructure.
