Summary

Paid for only if money is appropriated or donated.

The bill tells the Texas education commissioner to set up a grant program, paid for only if money is appropriated or donated, for public school and charter school campuses the commissioner designates as full-service community schools. It touches school districts, charter schools, and the students, families and community members who use services such as health and dental care, mental health care, job training, adult education and English classes for adults. On the ground, designated campuses could get state grants to run these services, under rules the commissioner must write.

(c) The commissioner may solicit and accept gifts, grants,
