Summary
More written notice when a child is placed with a relative or caregiver.
The bill expands the written notice the state child-welfare department must give when a child is placed with a relative or other designated caregiver. The notice must now explain the process for becoming an agency foster home, the difference in financial help between unverified caregivers and foster homes, TANF qualifications, how to apply and benefit amounts, other assistance under the subchapter, the permanency care assistance program, and any other financial benefit available. Relatives raising children placed by the state get a fuller written rundown of the money and options available to them starting September 1, 2025.
