Summary

Cases already barred before the effective date stay barred.

This bill removes the time limit for prosecuting every sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault, not just the narrower categories that already had no limit. It affects people accused of these offenses and the victims and prosecutors pursuing old cases, while cases already barred before the effective date stay barred. On the ground, prosecutors could bring indictments for these offenses at any time instead of facing ten-year or two-year deadlines.
