Rock, gravel and sand get heavier on state and local roads.
The bill lets trucks hauling aggregates, such as rock, gravel and sand, carry 15 percent more weight on each axle than the normal state limit. It touches aggregate haulers and the state and local roads they drive on. The truck's total weight still cannot go over the gross weight limit set for that road, so the change is in how weight is spread across the axles.
