Summary
Contractors check for underpayments and overpayments.
The bill widens the job of the outside recovery audit contractors that the state health commission already hires to look for Medicaid payment errors. It adds Medicaid managed care payments to what those contractors must check for underpayments and overpayments. Starting September 1, 2025, managed care payments fall within the audit and recovery program alongside regular Medicaid payments.
