Summary

Between Interstate 30 and U.S. Highway 75. No lane restrictions.

The bill bars the Texas Department of Transportation from putting any lane restriction, including tolls or managed lanes, on the stretch of Interstate 635 between Interstate 30 and U.S. Highway 75. It touches the department and any private or public partner it might contract with to run tolled or managed lanes on that segment. Drivers on that stretch keep untolled, unrestricted lanes, and the department cannot get around the ban through an agreement with another entity.
