Summary

More than one death in the same transaction.

The bill makes intoxication manslaughter a first-degree felony when the intoxicated person causes the death of more than one person in the same criminal transaction. It also keeps first-degree treatment for deaths of the people already listed in the existing subsection (b-1). This touches people prosecuted for intoxication manslaughter that kills multiple victims, raising their possible punishment for offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025.
