relating to the procedure for a hearing by the Texas Department of
Licensing and Regulation on the denial of an electrician's license
or disciplinary action against an electrician.
The general administrative procedure law still governs.
The bill deletes the line that let the licensing commission pick its own hearings officer to hear electrician license denial and discipline cases. Those hearings stay under the state's general administrative procedure law, which governs how contested cases are heard. Electricians facing a license denial or discipline get hearings under that general procedure rather than before a commission-designated officer, starting with hearings that begin on or after September 1, 2025.
