Summary

The director’s report goes to the standing committees instead.

The bill repeals the state law that creates the Criminal Justice Legislative Oversight Committee, which ends that committee. Two existing annual reports from the prison department director and the parole board would no longer go to that committee, and the director's report would go instead to the standing legislative committees that oversee the department. On the ground, one legislative oversight body disappears, and its reporting traffic moves to committees that already exist.
