Summary

The county size cap rises to 6,200 square miles, up from 4,800.

The bill extends a time window that lets certain small cities move their regular city officer elections to the November uniform election date. It covers cities of 9,000 people or fewer that use a council-manager government, currently hold elections on another date, and sit mostly in a county under 6,200 square miles, up from 4,800. Those city councils get until December 31, 2026, instead of 2024, to make the switch, and the authority expires January 1, 2027.
