Summary

Information requests from the legislature override medical licensing limits.

This bill orders the Texas Medical Board to hand over information when a legislator, legislative committee, or legislative agency asks for it under the state's legislative public-information law, overriding other limits in the medical licensing laws. The board may black out federally protected patient health details, unless the patient signs off, and other personal identifying details, but it may not black out a person's name. Every response must carry a written warning that misusing confidential information is an offense, and the bill repeals an existing medical board section and takes effect immediately or on September 1, 2025.
