Summary

Positive result, least intrusive test, not on tonsil tissue, done on site.

Before the state can destroy deer under this part of the wildlife code, an animal health commission agent must now assess the deer and get a positive test result, using the least intrusive test, not on tonsil tissue, and done at the site. This touches deer breeders, Parks and Wildlife, and the animal health commission, and it removes the old escape that made the assessment optional when it was not timely or not funded. Breeder deer that test negative during that assessment may be released onto a release site within 14 days of the result, even if other rules in the chapter would block it.
