Summary

A carve-out from the taxing unit employee ban.

The bill changes the rule that bars employees of taxing units from serving on a county appraisal review board, the panel that hears property owners' value protests. It carves out one group: people employed by a school district as teachers, who would now be eligible to serve even though a school district is a taxing unit. Starting September 1, 2025, school teachers could sit on appraisal review boards, while other taxing-unit employees and officers remain barred.
