Summary

Even when the supervising physician is out of network.

The bill lets HMOs contract directly with advanced practice registered nurses, and lets PPO insurers list those nurses as preferred providers. It does this even when the nurse's supervising physician is not in that plan's network. It touches advanced practice nurses, their supervising physicians, HMOs and PPO insurers, and it starts September 1, 2025, without letting insurers control the practice of medicine.
