Summary

Parking-enforcement vehicles too. Slow down for the meter maid.

The bill adds two kinds of vehicles to the Texas move-over rule, which requires drivers to move over or slow down when passing certain stopped or working vehicles on a highway. The new vehicles are animal control and carcass-removal vehicles clearing animals from the road, and local parking-enforcement vehicles issuing citations, as long as they use approved visual signals. Starting September 1, 2025, drivers who fail to move over or slow down for these vehicles fall under the existing passing offense.
