Summary

Medicaid and CHIP recipients get applied behavior analysis remotely.

The bill adds applied behavior analysis, behavior supports, and related evaluation services to the list of services that Medicaid, CHIP, and other state public benefits recipients must be offered by telehealth or other remote technology. It touches patients in state health programs, especially people using autism-related behavior therapy, and the providers who serve them. On the ground, families could get these therapy and evaluation services remotely, where federal law allows it and the state commission decides it is cost-effective and clinically effective.
