Summary

Police send the attorney general every report within 14 business days.

The bill requires a law enforcement agency to send the attorney general all its reports on a case, including witness statements and criminal history records, within 14 business days after the attorney general asks. The reports are used to decide whether a crime victim or claimant qualifies for victims' compensation and how much. It also keeps the information the attorney general receives out of the public information law, and it takes effect September 1, 2025.
