Summary

No AI replacing or supplementing the teacher, either.

The bill bars Texas public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools from using artificial intelligence technology to teach students. It also bars them from using AI to replace or supplement a teacher's role in teaching or interacting with students in a course. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, classroom instruction in these schools would have to come from people, not AI tools.
