Summary

No AI teachers, no AI supplementing teachers either.

The bill bars Texas public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools from using artificial intelligence technology to teach students. It also bars them from using AI to replace or supplement a teacher's role in teaching or interacting with students in a course. The ban applies starting with the 2025-2026 school year, so schools would have to pull AI tools out of instruction and keep it in teachers' hands.
