relating to standards and procedures for purchasing goods for resale by the Parks and Wildlife Department.

Caption from analyzed text · version I.

Summary

Resale stock comes from vendors of its choosing. The caption skips the bidding waiver.

The bill lets the head of the Parks and Wildlife Department set the agency's own rules for buying goods it plans to resell, such as items sold to park visitors. Those in-house rules do not have to follow the state's normal competitive bidding or state-contract requirements. On the ground, the department can buy resale stock from vendors of its choosing to raise revenue, starting September 1, 2025.

Fiscal note · version E · May 15, 2025

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined because the amount of revenue that would increase under changes approved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission for procuring goods and services for resale by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is unknown. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
