Summary

Cut at least five percent a year, six years starting September 1, 2025.

The bill renews the state rule that cities, counties, other local governments, state agencies and public colleges must set a goal to cut their electricity use by at least five percent a year. The new goal period runs six years starting September 1, 2025, replacing the old seven-year window that began in 2019. Public entities must set a fresh reduction goal, but the text adds no penalty or enforcement for missing it.
