Summary

Six years starting September 1, 2025.

The bill renews the state rule that every political subdivision, public college or university, and state agency must set a goal to cut its electricity use by at least five percent each year. The new goal period runs for six years starting September 1, 2025, replacing the old seven-year period that began in 2019. Local governments, schools of higher education and state agencies must set new reduction goals, but the text requires only that a goal be set, not that it be met.
