Summary

Six can tie. Seven is meant to end tie votes.

The bill grows the Calhoun Port Authority board from six commissioners to seven by adding one commissioner elected by voters across the whole district. Within 30 days of the law taking effect, the governor appoints someone to fill that new at-large seat until voters elect one in May 2027. The at-large commissioner must live in Calhoun County and own real property there, and the odd-numbered board is meant to end tie votes.
