Summary

An odd number for ties. The governor picks first, voters in May 2027.

The bill grows the Calhoun Port Authority board from six commissioners to seven by adding one member elected by voters across the whole port authority. It touches the port authority's board, its voters, and anyone seeking the new at-large seat, who must live in the port authority and own real property in the area. The governor appoints the at-large member within 30 days of the law taking effect, and that seat goes to the voters in May 2027, which gives the board an odd number to break ties.
