Summary

New windows include Memorial Day and Diwali. More fireworks!

The bill lengthens the calendar for retail fireworks sales in Texas by adding new statewide sale windows: late February to March 2, April 16 to 21, May 1 to 5, the days before Memorial Day, and the days around Diwali. It touches retail fireworks permit holders and the buying public, and it drops the old rule that limited the May 1 to 5 window to locations within 100 miles of the Texas-Mexico border in counties whose commissioners court approved it. On the ground, fireworks stands across the state could sell during five more periods a year starting September 1, 2025, without needing county sign-off for the early-May window.
