Summary

Joins the list of Texas tribes with that power.

The bill adds the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo to the existing list of Texas tribes whose tribal councils may hire and commission peace officers. It touches the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo tribal council and people on its reservation. Starting September 1, 2025, the Pueblo can employ its own commissioned officers to enforce state law on its reservation, as the Alabama-Coushatta and Kickapoo tribes already can.
