Summary

Joins the short list of Texas tribes with that power.

The bill adds the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo to the short list of Texas tribes whose tribal council may hire and commission peace officers. It touches the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo tribal council and people on that tribe's reservation. Starting September 1, 2025, the Pueblo can field its own commissioned officers to enforce state law on its reservation, as the Alabama-Coushatta and Kickapoo tribes already can.
