Summary
Covers warrants served in the county next door to the issuing judge.
This bill changes who can carry out a warrant to draw blood from a person suspected of an intoxication offense such as drunk driving. It touches peace officers and people suspected of the listed intoxication offenses when the warrant is served in a county next to the one where a judge issued it. Any peace officer can now execute the warrant in an adjacent county, without the current requirement that the officer be authorized to make arrests in that county, for warrants issued on or after September 1, 2025.
