Summary

Same Schedule C pay and injury leave as DPS.

The bill brings commissioned peace officers of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement into the state's hazardous duty pay rules and the special leave rules for officers hurt on the job. It touches the commission's own commissioned investigators and the state auditor's office, which must move their jobs onto the Schedule C law enforcement pay scale. Starting September 1, 2025, these officers get the same pay schedule, hazardous duty pay, and injury leave treatment as officers at agencies like DPS and the attorney general's office.
