Summary
Faster and simpler, including after a change of ownership.
The bill requires the state health commission to speed up and simplify Medicaid contracts for nursing homes, including after a change of ownership. It touches nursing facility operators, their new owners, the state health agencies, and the managed care companies that pay nursing homes. On the ground, the state contract terms can be no stricter than federal Medicare rules, licensing and Medicaid contracting use one application, and contracts, credentialing and payments must happen within 30-day deadlines so payments keep flowing when a new owner takes over a facility's contract and liabilities.
