Summary

Housing and child care for one-year residents. Program due January 1, 2027, after the election.

The bill tells the Health and Human Services Commission to build a supporting life pilot program that gives pregnant teenagers and young parents housing, child care, counseling, parenting classes and help getting into school, partly through contracted service providers and partly at a center the state owns and runs. Only people who are 11 years of age or older but younger than 21, who are expecting a child or have a child 36 months of age or younger, and who have lived in the program's county for at least one year can join, and the program runs only in a county with a population of 4 million or more. The commission must appoint a five-member advisory board by January 1, 2026, hire an executive director who hires staff and manages a budget, have the program running by January 1, 2027, report to the legislature every December, and end the whole thing on January 1, 2032.
