Summary

Hospitals over 100 beds. The hospital decides who’s high-risk.

The bill requires a pharmacist at a licensed hospital with more than 100 beds to get an accurate medication history for each high-risk patient admitted, with the hospital deciding who counts as high-risk. Trained pharmacist-interns or pharmacy technicians may do the work instead, and the hospital's pharmacist-in-charge must write policies and set deadlines for finishing the profiles. The state pharmacy board must write rules on what goes in a profile and what training the interns and technicians need, starting September 1, 2025.
