Summary

Hospitals with more than 100 beds. Each hospital defines high-risk.

The bill requires a pharmacist at any licensed Texas hospital with more than 100 beds to get an accurate list of the medicines taken by each high-risk patient admitted. Each hospital decides who counts as high-risk and how fast the list must be done, and trained pharmacy interns or technicians may do the work in place of the pharmacist. The state pharmacy board must write rules on what the medication list must contain and what training interns and technicians need, starting September 1, 2025.
