Summary

Deferred adjudication for a felony counts too.

The bill bars anyone convicted of a felony, placed on deferred adjudication for a felony, or convicted of a crime of moral turpitude from serving on a city civilian oversight board for police or fire fighters. It touches cities covered by the fire and police civil service chapter of state law, the boards those cities set up to watch over their police and fire departments, and residents who want to serve on them. Once it takes effect, those cities can no longer seat people with those records on these boards.
