Summary

Medicaid pays for complex rehab equipment repairs without prior approval.

The bill requires the state's Medicaid program to pay for repairs of complex rehabilitation technology equipment, like power wheelchairs, without making patients or providers get prior approval first. It touches Medicaid recipients who use this equipment, the suppliers who repair it, and the Health and Human Services Commission, which must write a payment method by rule. On the ground, repairs can move forward without waiting on an approval step, starting September 1, 2025, unless a federal waiver is needed first.
