Summary

Medicaid pays to fix specialized equipment without asking first.

The bill tells the state Medicaid agency to set a payment method for repairing complex rehabilitation technology equipment, like specialized wheelchairs, and to pay for those repairs without first requiring prior authorization or precertification. It touches Medicaid recipients who use this equipment and the providers who repair it. On the ground, repairs can be done and billed without waiting for advance approval, though the agency may delay if it decides a federal waiver is needed.

the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
