Summary

And keeps it out of public records requests.

This bill lets the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's governing commission adopt rules requiring applicants and license holders to give the department an e-mail address, and keeps that address confidential from public records requests. It also lets the commission, by rule and notwithstanding any other law, send and receive any correspondence electronically, including formal notices, orders and pleadings in licensing cases. People licensed or seeking licenses through the department could get official legal notices by e-mail instead of paper mail starting September 1, 2025, and two existing notice provisions are repealed.
