Summary

Open carry joins concealed carry and locked storage.

The bill changes school marshal rules so that marshals can openly carry a handgun when wearing a uniform that identifies them as a school marshal, in addition to the existing options of concealed carry or locked storage. It touches school marshals at public school districts, charter schools, private schools and public junior colleges, and the boards that write their regulations. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, any written marshal regulations must allow the uniformed open-carry option.
