Summary

Bullying or suicide risk notice gets recorded, with materials for the parent.

The bill requires public schools, when they notify a parent that their child was a bullying victim or is at risk of suicide, to keep a record of that notice and hand the parent suicide prevention materials. Those materials must include information on limiting the child's access to means of suicide, such as a firearm or medication, and the Texas Education Agency and the Health and Human Services Commission pick the materials. School districts and charter schools must adopt the policy starting with the 2025-2026 school year, so parents of affected students get a documented notice plus the state-selected packet.
