Summary

Six tracts, about 11.6 acres along Interstate 10, by December 31, 2025.

The bill orders the Texas Department of Transportation to give six tracts of state land, about 11.6 acres along Interstate 10 north of downtown Houston in Harris County, to the University of Houston by December 31, 2025. It touches the transportation department, which loses the land, and the university, which may use it only for a purpose that benefits the public interest of the state. If the university uses the land for any other purpose, ownership snaps back to the department; oddly, the text says the deed is to be filed in Fort Bend County records even though every tract is described as being in Harris County.
