Caption from analyzed text · version I.

Summary

The chancellor or president decides what counts.

The bill lets a university system's governing board or chancellor, or a campus president, allow university employees to sign up for payroll deductions for any purpose that official decides serves a public purpose and benefits employees. It touches employees and leaders of Texas public universities and systems, and lets governing boards set policies for these deductions. On the ground, more officials can approve new kinds of voluntary paycheck deductions, and these come on top of deductions already allowed by other law.
