Summary
Any purpose the official decides serves a public purpose.
The bill lets a university system chancellor or a college president, not just the governing board, allow employees to sign up for payroll deductions for any purpose that official decides serves a public purpose and benefits employees. It also lets governing boards write policies for these deductions and says these deductions are in addition to deductions allowed by other law. It touches public university and college employees and administrators, who get a wider, simpler path to approving new payroll deductions.
