Summary

Report due December 1, 2026 on which ones aren’t needed.

The bill orders the comptroller to review every board, commission, committee, council, group and task force tied to its office and to report to the Legislature by December 1, 2026, on which ones are no longer needed. It also removes an advisory committee's role in advising how the comptroller spends an account's earnings on investment costs, and it repeals three sections of the comptroller's chapter of the Government Code. The comptroller's office runs with fewer attached committees and sends lawmakers a list of more to cut, and the review provision itself expires at the end of 2026.
