Summary
Missing limb from birth, surgery or amputation? Medicaid pays. Adults too.
The bill requires the state Medicaid program to cover prosthetic devices for any recipient who needs one because of a missing limb from birth, a surgical revision, or a traumatic amputation of an arm, leg, hip, or shoulder. It touches Medicaid recipients of all ages, including adults, and the state health commission that runs the program. If a federal waiver is needed, the agency must ask for it and may hold off until it is granted; otherwise the coverage starts September 1, 2025.
