The bill changes how much extra state school money a district gets for each student who is homeless or in foster care with the state family services department. Instead of tying that money to the highest weight in another part of the compensatory education formula, it sets the amount at the basic allotment times 2.41. Districts serving these students would get a fixed, set amount per student starting September 1, 2025.
