Summary

The officer decides how much cutting is practical. Could mean few changes.

The bill orders the state's job classification officer to find state agency jobs whose education, experience, and training requirements could be lowered, and to cut the number of jobs that require a bachelor's degree where practical. It affects state agencies and job seekers or employees who do not have a four-year degree. The officer must also look at ways to help non-degree workers move up and report the findings to the governor's budget office and the Legislative Budget Board, starting September 1, 2025.
